We utilize numerous therapies and a variety of treatments by our highly trained staff designed to deliver the best opportunity to generating and supporting a healthy lifestyle.
Chiropractic care is a physical medicine that seeks to correct the lack of motion and human performance as a consequence of injury, disease, and stress. Therapies and modalities include Chiropractic Manipulation Therapy (CMT), electrical muscle stimulation (E-Stim), ultrasound, heat/ice therapy, spinal decompression, PT and rehabilitation, RockTape application, nutrition and exercise education. Chiropractic medicine has been shown to positively impact various aspects of the body including cardiovascular, digestive, nervous, respiratory, and immune systems.
While Chiropractic care has been demonstrated to influence many types of injuries, here are some of the most commonly and effectively treated.
Specific symptoms include heel pain during initial steps after rest (like sleeping or sitting), sore arches, and swelling. Combined, both feet contain 52 bones, 66 joints, thousands of muscle fibers, ligaments, and tendons. They are exposed on a daily basis to thousands of pounds of stress resulting in the possibility of injury and inflammation. Excessive inflammation and prolonged use creates scar tissue resulting in tender arches and heel pain. Treatment includes cryotherapy (ice), Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), proper stretching, and footwear modification.
Like smoke from a 10-cent cigar, these injuries have the ability to linger around much longer than necessary. Proper assessment of a muscle injury includes age, sex, mechanism of injury (MOI), previous history of injury, and desired performance level. Treatment is based on the specific muscle, injury location on the muscle, and length of injury. CMT, ice, heat, ultrasound, E-Stim, TENS, rehabilitation, and education are all effective treatments. The choice of treatments will be decided after a full evaluation and all options are discussed.
Sports injuries and rehab
So long as there have been sports, there have been sports injuries. From Little League to Pop Warner and Ironmen to Weekend Warriors, we are all pushing the limits and demanding pristine performance whether the goal is a home run, slam dunk, 40-yard-dash, or the finish line. All factors must be considered when deciding proper treatment of a sports injury including age, sex, experience, environment, and mechanism of injury (MOI). A conservative approach following return to play (RTP) guidelines based on all these factors will ensure recovery is neither or prolonged or premature and the athlete can get back to doing what they love.
Hip and pelvis discomfort
Lower trunk pain can be attributed to dozens of factors including tight muscles, biomechanical faults, overuse, poor posture, and even footwear. A global assessment takes all of this into account as we determine the source of error and how to correct it. Treatments include CMT of the sacroiliac joint (SIJ), muscle strengthening and stretching, heat/ice therapy, exercise education, and daily activity modification.
Neck, back, and lumbar pain
Arguably the most researched topic of Chiropractic influence has been discomfort associated with the vertebral column (spine). Highly safe and very effective, CMT along with massage and exercise have demonstrated speedy recovery times, prolonged results, and lower instance of re-injury.
The origin of a headache is one of the most extensively researched topics of pain. It is universally agreed the best way to treat a headache is to prevent it all together. We will research and isolate possible trigger mechanisms along with modifying aggravating components. CMT has demonstrated very effective results pertaining to certain types of headaches. Coupled with massage, trigger point therapy, and activity adaptation, dealing with headaches doesn’t always have to be a headache.
